ANTIPODES SKINCARE

REVIEW: ANTIPODES SKINCARE

If you’re reading this I can assume that you’re into beauty and skincare like myself, so I can also probably assume you’ll be familiar with Antipodes or at least have heard of them. They’re a skincare brand which originates from New Zealand and it’s popularity has soared the past couple of years! Every man and their dog seem to be talking about Antipodes and raving about how amazing their products are.
Antipodes products are 100% vegetarian, cruelty free, and they do not test on animals.

Antipodes Divine Face Oil- Rosehip & Avocado Oil

I love a good oil and it's a must in my skincare routine. I use a few drops just before bed and sometimes during the day when I feel my skin is looking dull. Rosehip is my absolute favorite oil so no points for guessing that I like this oil.
The primary oils in this blend are Avocado, Jojoba, Macademia, Rosehip and Vitamin E. All of them rich in fatty acids, with anti-aging properties.
My skin loves oils. I've been using Rosehip for over 6 years now and I credit my good skin to it. I use this Every night without fail! So this blend of Rosehip and other super-oils gets a big tick of approval from me.

Antipodes Blessing Anti-Pollution Light Face Serum
I adore the Blessing Anti-Pollution Light Face Serum, but it confused the hell out of me. I first used the serum like I do every other serum; after my double cleanse and before my moisturiser.
At night, I usually top this off with a facial oil too. The Blessing Serum feels like an oil but is advertised as a serum. Antipode’s official website also states, “A true blessing for urban life, this super-light face oil offers protection from city pollution”. So is it a serum or facial oil? I guess it’s an oil-based serum which is a something I’ve never experienced before. The website also recommends to apply it every morning before your moisturiser to create a natural barrier against pollution particles as poor air quality stresses the skin and may also affect its function, risking signs of premature ageing like dark spots and uneven tone.
I used way too much when I first applied the product as I was expecting more of a light, gel-like consistency which sinks into the skin. This left my face slightly slippy and, dare I say it, greasy. A feeling I don’t actually mind from an over-night sleeping oil but not for daily wear. So now, I use nearly half the amount and gently sweep it in upwards motions over my face and neck. The serum contains marshmallow bloom which claims to brighten the skin and liquorice root to target micro-pigmentation. It also contains Vinanza Grape and Asian ginger (both of which are antioxidants) to help “neutralise free radical damage” and kiwi seed oil (high in Vitamin C) and avocado oil strengthen skin. It is also fragranced with white jasmine.
The Blessing Anti-Pollution Light Face Serum hasn’t broken me out so far, my skin does look brighter, healthier and bouncier since adding it to my skincare routine. It initially felt odd popping on an oil in the morning, however, when you don’t go in too heavy-handed, it’s very light and aromatic. It sinks into my skin well with no leftover slippery residue and gives my skin an added boost of hydration.

Antipodes Worship Skin Defence Antioxidant Serum £12.49 on Look Fantastic
I like that the product spreads well so a little goes a long way, but I'm not sure how well it absorbs - which of course would affect what it's actually doing for my skin (not much).
I've been using this at least once a day (often twice) for around three months now, and I think that if it were going to offer any cumulative benefits over time, it would have done so by now. So it's safe to say that this hasn't done anything for my skin.
Probably my biggest issue with it is that it's not hydrating in the slightest (which is something I look for because my skin is dry), but even worse, it also feels drying on my skin and it dries me out and leaves my face feeling uncomfortable unless I go in with an oil or heavy moisturiser afterwards.
It also leaves my skin feeling tight as it dries down and there's something almost powdery about the finish that I don't like. So I personally wouldn't recommend this for dry skin and I'll be glad to finish my bottle because it doesn't leave my face feeling great after use.
There's not a lot to comment on in the product claims but I can say that it hasn't had any anti-ageing effect for me personally and I also wouldn't call it a 'supreme daily organic skin booster'.
What I will say though is that there may be a place for something like this if you don't have dry skin. I've certainly seen some positive reviews of the product online (see eg Priceline or Adore Beauty) so it obviously works for some people but it just doesn't gel with my skin.
Antipodes Rejoice Light Facial Day Cream Retails for 28.99 At Feel Unique
The Antipodes Rejoice cream is descried as a light and non oily cream. I was actually surprised by the consistency as it was quite thick compared to some 'light' moisturisers I have tried in the past but it was not heavy at all, it also absorbed into my skin quite quickly. Once using the cream I wasn't left with a greasy residue which is one thing I look for in moisturisers especially day moisturisers. I love the feel of my skin once I've used the Rejoice cream it feels so luxurious and the vanilla scent is lovely. I found the Antipodes Rejoice cream to be very hydrating, it leaves my skin looking radiant and feeling silky smooth to touch. Once again Antipodes have won me over with another great product, I highly recommend this product especially if you're a lover of organic natural yet effective skincare products.

Have you tried any products from the Antipodes range?

LQ Liquid Health Skin, Hair & Nails Supplement

LQ Liquid Health Skin, Hair & Nails Supplements

Hey my lovelies , I'm back at you guys with my regular content and, today, we're going to be discussing my latest beauty favourite which, surprisingly, isn't a makeup or skincare product as such. I am going to be talking about LQ Liquid Health Skin, Hair & Nails supplements*.

I got contacted by email asking me if I was interested in giving these supplements a go and, given the fact I'd already seen them round and heard some very positive reviews indeed, I didn't see any reason to say no!
Just before I get very excited to give you my review of this supplement I will like to talk about the ingredients in this supplement.

Ingredients
• 7000mg Marine Collagen – a natural protein and a key building block of the skin.  As we age, we produce less and less collagen, which is the Holy Grail for promoting plumper and healthier looking skin.
• Hyaluronic Acid – often known as ‘Nature’s moisturiser’, it’s something you see in many moisturisers and creams as it’s a fabulous hydration aid.
• Resveratrol – a key beauty ingredient extracted from red grapes.  Many well-known French skincare brands are famous for using it in their products.
• Biotin (Vitamin B7) – contributes to the maintenance of normal hair and skin.
• Vitamin C – contributes to collagen formation and anti-oxidant protection.
• Vitamin E – contributes to anti-oxidant protection.
• Selenium – contributes to the maintenance of normal hair and skin.
• Silicon – choline-stabilised orthosilcic acid, a source of silicon found in hair, skin, nails.
First Impressions
I have never tried a liquid health supplement before so didn’t really know what to expect. I wasn’t a fan of the taste of these at all, however others I’ve spoken to said they love the taste so I guess it’s all about preference, I am pretty fussy!
Results
The biggest improvement was in my skin. I first noticed a difference after a week of using the supplement. My skin looked more plump, smooth and clear.
At the end of the 10th day the texture of my skin was much more even toned and less bumpy. I didn’t have any breakouts during the whole 10 days of using. It makes your skin look really healthy, vibrant and glowy. Similarly to how you see an improvement when you make sure you to get in your water intake!
My nails have definitely grown a lot quicker and feel a lot stronger and less prone to breakage.
I would really recommend trying out the LQ Skin, Hair & Nails liquid supplement if you are after a product that will boost the overall condition of you skin, whilst preventing ageing and increasing hydration.
I’ve seen an improvement in my skin, it seems to be glowing more and my hair appears to be growing faster! My hair also feels a lot stronger and longer, my friend relax my hair and was shocked how long and fuller my hair is now.
I’ve only started noticing the results towards the end of my supply so I feel you’d need to use the product for a couple of weeks to start noticing lots of changes especially  on my nails but all in all I’m very happy with it!
