How important is Micellar Water in your skincare Routine

Micellar water is made up of micelles (tiny balls of cleansing oil molecules) suspended in soft water. ... “The idea is that micellesare attracted to dirt and oil, so they are able to draw out impurities without drying out the skin,” she says.

Now let’s get talking about the importance of Micellar Water

What makes micellar cleansing water so appealing?
  • Effectively removes stubborn makeup, such as, waterproof mascara, without leaving behind an oily film on the skin like most removers.
  • Made up of gentle ingredients that are great for hydrating and cleansing those with dry or sensitive skin.
  • No water or rinsing required, leaving the skin feeling soft, supple and clean, rather than tight and dry (also makes it great for camping or vacationing where water is not readily available).
  • Calms inflammation.
  • Balances the PH of the skin, increasing the effectiveness and absorption of products applied directly after its use, such as, serums and moisturizers (some may find their skin is hydrated enough from the micellar water).
  • As a successful makeup remover, cleanser and hydrator, the product can easily cut your skin care routine in half.
How to use Micellar Water
Simply put  a generous amount into a cotton ball and gently swipe over the skin.  If removing makeup, you might need several cotton balls to remove it thoroughly.  No water required!  Once cleansed, tone and moisturize as usual.

In my opinion, micellar water is the perfect morning cleanser.  I love to oil cleanse in the evening but I don’t always feel like a full A.M. oil cleanse is necessary so a few swipes of this light cleanser will gently cleanse my skin, preparing it for a toner and facial oil!  Plus, while doing research, I found that many makeup artist use Micellar water before runway shows because it softens the skin and helps the makeup look flawless.

Why You Might Want to Add Micellar Water Into Your Skincare Routine

If you have dry or sensitive skin. Micellar Water is a really good product to consider using. In one swipe it can remove an entire face of makeup without stripping your skin of moisture. (Except for heavy foundation and waterproof mascara, in my experience anyway.) It gently removes impurities while leaving your skin clean, hydrated and soothed.
If you have oily and acne prone skin, this product can help, but you’ll still want to supplement with a facial cleanser to get your skin really clean.
Do you sleep with makeup on?
If you often find yourself heading to bed with makeup on because you just don’t have the energy or desire to remove it, micellar water is perfect. It can get the job done quickly and requires no rinsing whatsoever. You just put some on a cotton round, swipe it over your face and you’re done.
You now know what micellar water is, why it works and what it can do for your skin. Now you need to know how to incorporate it into your daily beauty routine.
Here are some ways to use it:
To replace your overflowing cabinet of products
If you’re wanting to streamline your nightly routine, some beauty experts have used micellar water to replace their cleansers, makeup removers, and toner. While I wouldn’t recommend this, it has definitely worked for some.
As a cleanser after removing makeup
While micellar water does remove makeup, it doesn’t remove heavy foundation and stubborn eye makeup. Try using it as a cleanser, but after you’ve removed your makeup with another product.

As a pre-step to your nightly cleansing routine
This is my favorite way to use it and it’s been working great for me: as the first step in my double cleansing routine. Apply some to a cotton ball or round and swipe it over your face and eyes as the first step to removing makeup and impurities. Then follow up with a gentle cleanser to remove the rest.
As a morning cleanser
I learned several years ago that yes, I should cleanse my face in the morning. I was just splashing it with some water, but that wasn’t removing what builds up over night. Making this small change made a difference in my skin. My breakouts were less and my makeup looked fresher.
Since you don’t need a deep clean in the morning, micellar water is the perfect product to get your skin clean and prepped for the day.
Have you tried adding micellar water into your daily skin care routine?
