My 20 Minutes Night Time Skincare Routine

For me, skincare has always been really important. Because my skin tends to be problematic, sometimes, I really have to pay attention to how I am caring for my skin.

So, I thought I’d share with you guys my night time routine, and all the little tricks and tips that I use daily to ensure that every last inch of my makeup is removed. I typically have combination.

Although the condition of your skin isn’t solely based on your skincare, what you put on your skin has a large effect on the overall appearance and health of your skin

So here are all the products I swear by to hydrate and replenish my skin, while also keeping breakouts at bay. Here’s what my night time routine looks like

Step 1: Makeup Removal

The first step in my night time skincare routine is taken off my makeup. I have used oils, I have used wipes and I have used just a plain cleanser, about 3 times through, to remove my makeup. The one skincare product that I have always been fearful of, rightly because of my combination skin, is a balm. However, this makeup removing cleansing balm (Clinque Take the day Off Balm) is one of my favourite steps in my night time skincare routine. This lasts forever, as you only need a little bit, and is unscented which I love.

I use a penny size amount and massage it into my skin, really well to remove all of my makeup. This balm is great because it is gentle yet strong enough to remove matte lipstick, heavy eye makeup, in addition to foundation. Once I have really massaged everything and dislodged my mascara, I take a warm washcloth and wipe every trace of makeup off my face. The warm cloth always feels so nice and the balm comes right off!

Step 2: cleanse

Cleansing your skin is one of the most popular steps and something that most people do. One of the biggest changes in my skin came from choosing a plain cleanser that will remove oil and makeup. I personally prefer foams and gels, rather than a cream based cleanser, this is purely because it ensures that all of the makeup, dirt, and oil are removed from your skin and allows the following products that you apply to be absorbed at a deeper level.

I have been a long time fan of the Dual Act Wet Dry Cleanser and always will be. This removes all of the unwanted oil and grime from my face, without drying it out.

After taking my make-up off with clinque balm , I will then wet my face with warm water to open up my pores, damp two cotton pads and then pump the cleanser on the pads and lather into my face. This is a gel AND cream based formula which is really thick and creamy and melts away the make-up and impurities on your skin.

I tend to get pump happy so I have been going through these like crazy lately.

 Step 3: Toner

The next step is my toner. I never used to use a toner, but now I can't imagine not. I actually use a toner in both the morning and night I love it so much! Toners are best used on a clean face before any other products are applied. The reason for that is that toners help balance the pH of your skin, they are often very hydrating and they also help your skin absorb whatever products you put on over them, My Favourite Toner at the moment is the Pixi Glow Tonic

The product is suitable for all skin types and is great for those who love light floral rose scents. Non-irritating and high performance, we think this acid toner is definitely worth the money!

Step 4: Serum

This has to be my current skincare obsession, why should you implement serum in your skincare routine you may ask ?Serums have the ability to penetrate deeper into the skin than what a moisturiser can due to their molecular structure .For my Night Serum I use the Elixier London 24k Gold Beauty Serum

This serum contains 24k gold particles and when applied on the face it leaves my face with this golden glow and my face feels very hydrates and all plumped up for the morning .

The Serum is very easy to absorbed into the skin and you can see my skin looking glowing ,smooth every time I apply onto my skin .There is no significant results in reducing my fine lines which I have got ,it just makes my skin really smooth and moisturized.

Step 5: Moisturised

After my serum I go in with my moisturizer, I have been using the Lait Creme Concentre Nourishing Moisturiser; it’s amazingly soothing on my face. It doesn’t cause any rosacea flare ups for me. I’ve been using it now for almost four months and love it. I think it’s a great price point for a great product, I also use this as my primer before applying my makeup and it leaves my makeup very flawless and it stays in place all day.
